NYC Votes on Tuesday – Make Your Voice Heard! (6/22/25)
To our New York City community: if you haven’t voted early, please make a plan now to vote on Tuesday, June 24th. This is a consequential and contentious mayoral election, and your vote matters.
New York City uses ranked choice voting, which means you can rank up to five candidates in order of preference. We urge you to fill in all five slots. With so many candidates in the race, chances are there are at least five you’d be comfortable seeing in office. By ranking all five, you ensure your voice carries through multiple rounds if your top picks are eliminated early.
We know this election has felt confusing. There's been a flood of outside money, misleading mailers, and an overwhelming amount of noise. That’s why we’ve worked hard to cut through the clutter and help voters feel informed. Many of the candidates joined our Zooms, where we heard from them directly and asked questions. We also hosted two Ranked Choice Voting workshops (watch one of them here), and we brought in three top NYC political journalists to share their insights and help us think critically about what’s at stake.
No matter who you’re supporting, please show up for your city. If you're in NYC, you can find yourpoll site and sample ballot here.
And if you’re not in New York City, why should you care?Because the leadership of this city, one of the largest and most visible in the country, sets a tone far beyond its five boroughs. The next mayor will shape not just life in NYC, but the broader narrative about urban policy, criminal justice, climate action, and how progressive values play out on the ground. What happens here matters everywhere.
So to our New York voters: don’t sit this one out. And to the rest of you: please help spread the word to everyone you know who is eligible to vote, to please make sure they do.
