Midterms Homestretch! (10/2/22)

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the amazing 24 Hours of Action: Postcard Around the Clock 2.0 event. As we enter the home stretch of this midterm election cycle, we hope you were inspired by the speakers and the number of postcards written during the event, and are now ready to help get out the vote to hold the House, expand the Senate, and flip some state houses to save our democracy. To continue the momentum, we are hosting a free screening in NYC of the film Call Jane. The movie is loosely based on the story of The Jane Collective which was spearheaded by Heather Booth, who was so inspiring at our 24 HR event. Check your newsletter for the RSVP link. If you have not already subscribed to our newsletter, now is the time.

Now is the moment. We are less than six weeks away from the November midterms. We must make the remaining time count. The news is bleak, and the polls are tightening, but instead of freaking out, do the work. It is time to get out of your comfort zone as it is going to take all of us.

There are get-out-the-vote postcards to write and we can help you get started. If you can go out to canvass for a candidate now is the time. Voter protection hotlines and phone banks are a great way for us to help in states we can’t physically access. Hotlines can be especially rewarding when helping people vote in states that have lots of voter suppression laws making it harder to cast a vote. Here is a terrific list of activism resources to help you get started. Also, candidates up and down the ballot still need money. Join our giving circle or if already a member, contribute a little more to help candidates for state legislature in Arizona and Pennsylvania. Any amount makes a difference as we pool our resources in these last few critical weeks. We have less than $5,000 left to raise to meet our goal of $150,000. Please help us get there.

IT IS GO TIME!
All gas. No brakes. We’ve got elections to win! If you need some inspiration, we urge you to listen to political strategist Simon Rosenberg who was our "closer" at the 24-hour event. Here is a link to his informative and hugely motivating segment from our event. He uses data with a dose of optimism which is what we all need to keep our fires burning in this homestretch. if you didn't hear him live, it is a must-listen. If we each do what we can, we can make this happen.
