We’ll Sleep When We’re Dead (8/11/24)

In this moment, a wave of joy is sweeping through the political landscape, thanks to the inspiring leadership of Kamala Harris and Tim Walz, our joyful warriors who are guiding us with power and purpose. The atmosphere has shifted, and now, more than ever, people are smiling, filled with hope and enthusiasm. There's an undeniable exuberance in the air, with millions being raised, tens of thousands at rallies, and an outpouring of volunteers ready to make a difference. Yet our focus remains steadfast on the work we've always championed—supporting down-ballot races. We've already written 13,000 postcards to Florida for Therese Wakefield-Gamble, and with just two days left, it's time to finish strong. We're going to keep writing until the very last moment, with extended Zoom hours on Monday, using the Wednesday night Zoom link after the morning session.

In our commitment to leave it all on the field over the next 86 days, we've even canceled our usual summer break, transforming it into a working vacation. Soon, we'll be launching a series of important down-ballot postcard campaigns on our Postcards For Democracy platform, and as Tim Walz reminded us with a quote from Warren Zevon, "We'll sleep when we're dead." The work continues, and so does our spirit!
