Gratitude (11/23/25)

As we head into Thanksgiving week, we've been thinking a lot about gratitude, not just for the big moments that make headlines, but for the quieter ones that keep us going. This community gives us reasons for thankfulness on both counts.

We are grateful for the big things: hundreds of thousands of postcards we wrote together this year; for our Giving Circle, which raised almost $120,000 and helped fuel the flipping of 13 House seats in Virginia; for voters who showed up in record numbers this November to have their voices heard; for the 7 million of us who showed up for the No Kings protest; for the women journalists who continue to do their jobs with courage despite the horrific abuse they endure; for the Epstein survivors whose persistence and resistance remind us what strength looks like; and for the lower courts that are still holding the line and upholding the Constitution when it matters most.

But we are equally grateful for the small things, the ones that rarely make news but make all the difference: the companionship of a fellow volunteer on a pop-up Zoom near a postcard deadline, the encouragement that shows up in the Slack channel at just the right moment, the quiet acts of generosity that stitch this community together day after day. Each of you embodies the spirit of care, resilience, and hope as we work to make the world a better place.

From the countless hours you’ve spent writing postcards, making calls, and organizing, to the kindness and support you show one another, this group is a true force for good. We are deeply thankful for your generosity, your steadiness, your belief in one another, and the way you keep showing up for our democracy, for our candidates, and for this community.

Wishing each of you a week filled with gratitude for the big things, the small things, and the people who make all the work worthwhile.

Happy Thanksgiving from all of us!
