Concrete Actions in Turbulent Times (3/2/25)

These are turbulent times, and some days (like Friday afternoon in the Oval Office) fill us with despair for our country and the world. There are concrete actions you can take today to make a difference. Whether it’s protecting democracy in Pennsylvania, supporting a grassroots candidate in Wisconsin, standing with Ukraine, or showing up for science and truth, your efforts matter and we’ve made it easy to get started.

We know there is a lot in this newsletter, but it reflects that there is a lot going on. If you just want information about postcarding, use the clickable table of contents to jump to the postcard section.

Write Postcards That Matter
We just launched two critical postcard campaigns on the Postcards For Democracy portal:

  1. Dan Goughnour – This special election for PA House District 35 will determine control of the PA State House, which is currently tied. Every seat counts, and your postcards can help secure the majority.

  2. Alicia Williams – After her town ignored expert advice and removed fluoride from the water, Alicia is running a write-in campaign for DeForest Trustee in WI. We’ve seen firsthand how postcards can boost write-in candidates—voters can even bring them to the polls!

Show Up and Be Seen
Being in the streets builds movements, and many of you told us how powerful it felt to participate in the “Not My President’s Day” marches. More opportunities are coming:

Your Actions Make a Difference
If you need proof that these small acts matter, look no further than Bishop Budde’s Instagram post—she shared the outpouring of thank-you postcards and letters from our community and others. It meant something. You mean something.
Every action counts whether it’s helping to win the PA House, supporting local candidates, or joining a national march. Together, we’re pushing back. Together, we’re making a difference.
Let’s get to work
