Founded in 2019, the Markers For Democracy Giving Circle helped flip the Virginia House of Delegates from red to blue. This led to significant legislation including:

* Expanding voting rights and access

* Increasing access to women’s reproductive healthcare

* Enacting a Red Flag law related to firearms

* Abolishing the death penalty

* Protecting LGBTQ rights

* Expanding early childhood care and education 

For 2023, we are back in Virginia to flip the House of Delegates back to blue and expand the VA State Senate Democratic majority. It is critical to flip the House of Delegates back to blue to prevent the Republicans from enacting laws suppressing the vote, and denying women the right to choose as Republican legislatures in other states, like Texas, have done.
