Show your support and appreciation of President Biden (2/25/24)

Two topics dominated the pre-guest discussions on this week's morning Zoom sessions as well as many conversations offline:

  • Joe Biden's age and what, if anything, Democrats should do about it

  • The New York Times' poorly reported article on burnout among the resistance

We are fortunate to have homegrown responses to each that we hope you will draw upon when engaged in conversations in your circles.

Markers’ own Susan Tilson took over her husband Whitney Tilson’s newsletter last week with a brilliant post defending and arguing in favor of President Biden. We share it here and hope that you will share it with friends and family who express reservations about President Biden:  Read it here.

Later in the week, The Grassroots Connector, a newsletter of the Grassroots Collaboration Project co-founded by Markers For Democracy Leader Susan Wagner, published a letter responding to the New York Times article on anti-Trump burnout: Read the article.

Let's put Susan Tilson's words into action. At this moment when the media is fixated on Biden’s age and seems obsessed with printing lackluster stories about the many accomplishments of the Biden administration, let's send postcards to President Biden thanking him for doing a good job. As Susan Wagner, who devised the campaign, puts it: “The postcard community is turning our Sharpies to a very special campaign: Show your support and appreciation of President Biden." And, as Postcards4VA wrote: "This is your opportunity to put into words how you feel about this administration’s many accomplishments. It’s also an opportunity to show the Biden White House just how special it is to receive one of our handwritten cards."
