Let’s Keep Going

We’re living in a time that feels chaotic and uncertain. The noise is constant, witnessing the destruction of lives, previously held norms, and our standing in the world. It is hard to watch, and progress can feel frustratingly slow. And yet, there are bright spots. On April 21st, voters in Virginia said yes to midterm redistricting. That didn’t happen by accident. It happened because of the work of the thousands of activists who wrote postcards and phonebanked and our own work from 2025, when we helped flip 13 seats in the House of Delegates and elect Governor Abigail Spanberger. It’s also the result of sustained investment, including the Markers For Democracy Giving Circle, which has supported Virginia state legislative candidates in odd-year elections since 2019, making 2025 our fourth consecutive year investing in the state.

It’s a powerful reminder: the work matters. It creates real change. But it doesn’t always happen overnight. Often, it takes time to see the results. And that’s exactly why we keep going.
