We Keep Showing Up (4/27/25)
Let’s be real: we’re all tired. It’s exhausting to live in a world where every day seems to bring more heartbreak, more injustice, more reasons to rage. This week brought with it new lows: the FBI's arrest of a Wisconsin judge and the deportation of a 2-year-old American citizen! Every time you think this regime can't go lower, it does. The weight is heavy, and you’re not imagining it; this is a lot. And yet, even in the face of all that, we keep going because we must.
We showed up in force on April 5th. We showed up again on April 19th, still strong, even if fewer in number. Now, May 1st is coming, and we need to be bigger, louder, and more visible than ever. We need to show up for each other, for our communities, and for the future we’re fighting for. Look below for different ways to show up on May 1st.
At the same time, let’s be clear: taking care of ourselves is part of the work. Rest and joy are resistance too. If you're in need of a breather, a reset, or just a little creative calm, join us for our Handcrafters Zoom (details below). Come as you are, no pressure, just space to breathe, chat and share, or quietly make something with your hands. Or just listen to the conversation while you write postcards.
Together, we rest. Together, we rise. Join us in the streets on May 1st.
Note: As we head into summer, we're adjusting our newsletter rhythm to give everyone (including us!) a bit of breathing room. Starting today, you’ll still receive a full Sunday night newsletter every other week (covering two weeks’ worth of speakers, events, and important info), but we're pausing our alternate Friday postcarding newsletters for a while.
Don’t worry!! We’ll still send quick interim updates when new postcard campaigns launch on the Postcards For Democracy portal.
Thanks for staying engaged! We’re in this together, and every action matters.
