Last night, Markers hosted a Zoom to benefit our giving circle attended by 200 people featuring a conversation between MSNBC analysts and podcast stars Molly Jong-Fast and Tim Miller who focused on the 2024 presidential race. Daniel Squadron, Founder of The States Project, then joined the Zoom to passionately argue that while the presidential race is important, state legislatures are the critical safeguard for our democracy.

Today’s appalling decision by the Arizona Supreme Court resurrecting a 160-year-old total abortion ban makes clear that the fight in the states is more urgent than ever. In addition to a total ban on abortion with no exceptions for rape or incest, the Arizona law would result in the imprisonment of doctors who provide abortions. To ensure that women in Arizona have access to abortion care we MUST FLIP THE ARIZONA STATE LEGISLATURE FROM RED TO BLUE. We are two seats away from Democratic majorities in both chambers and we need your help.
